Privacy Policy
Bellody keeps your family's information on your iPhone. We, TebScribe, don't collect it, can't read it, and never receive it.
The short version
- No account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics, no crash reporting. Our App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
- Your data lives on your device, protected by your device's own encryption and, if you turn it on, Face ID.
- Bellody's understanding runs on your device. Nothing you write is sent to an AI service, including ours.
- Nothing leaves your device unless you turn on a feature that needs it, such as sharing with a co-parent or subscribing to a school calendar. None of it comes to us.
- The app lists every connection it can make, each with its own switch, under You → Privacy → What leaves your phone.
1. What we collect
Nothing. We run no server that receives anything from Bellody. The app contains no analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting software. We never receive names, photos, contacts, calendars, health or financial information, diary entries, notes, recordings, documents, locations, device identifiers or usage data.
2. What Bellody stores on your device
The things you create or approve: people, events, tasks, deadlines, appointments, activities, notes, diary entries, documents and photos you add, and your settings. Storage uses your device's file protection. Your device passcode is the security boundary, and you can add Face ID to the whole app or to sensitive areas only.
3. On-device processing
Reading what you type or say, reading receipts and flyers you photograph, suggesting events and tasks, and summarising all happen on your device. Bellody uses Apple's on-device model where your device supports Apple Intelligence, and its own built-in rules everywhere else. Speech recognition, text recognition in photos and PDF reading use Apple's on-device frameworks.
4. When something leaves your device
Each of these happens only when you use the feature, and none of them sends anything to us.
| Feature | What is sent | To whom |
|---|---|---|
| Sharing with your partner, co-parent or caregiver, or sharing a list with a code | Only the items you chose to share, stored in your own iCloud account | Apple (iCloud), and the people you invite |
| Bellody Plus purchases and restores | What Apple needs to process the purchase. We never see your card, address or Apple Account | Apple (App Store) |
| Searching for a place or finding an address | The words or address you typed. No location, name or identifier | Apple (Maps) |
| Calendar feeds, website, news and shop cards, linked spreadsheets | A plain request for the address you added. No cookies, sign-in or identifier | The site you added |
| Reading your mailbox (if you turn it on) | Standard mail commands with the sign-in you entered. Bellody never sends, moves or deletes mail | Your own mail provider |
| Handing something to a phone beside you | The one item you hand over, encrypted, directly between the two devices | The other device only |
| Opening a link | Links you added open in Safari or in the app they belong to | That website or app |
5. Sharing with other people
Sharing is always something you set up and can stop.
- Partner sharing and Co-parenting use Apple's iCloud sharing between your iCloud account and the account of the person you invite. Co-parenting shares only the custody schedule, journal, parenting plan and expenses for the children you chose. Stopping sharing cuts the other person off.
- Caregivers (a babysitter, au pair, caregiver or nurse) see only the items you pick, view only, until the end time you set or until you revoke it. Health items need a separate confirmation for each share. You can also give a caregiver a printed or PDF sheet; that's a snapshot you hand over yourself and can't be taken back.
- Your diary is never shared, and no one you share with can see anything you didn't choose.
- You can mark any person "no contact", which blocks every future share to them.
What you share, the people you share with can see and keep. We have no access to shared data; it lives in the iCloud accounts involved.
6. Permissions
Bellody may ask for Calendars, Notifications, Microphone and Speech Recognition, Camera and Photos, Contacts, Health (read only), local network, and Face ID. Each is asked in context and is optional. Declining one leaves the rest of the app working, and anything read through a permission stays on your device.
7. Health information and safety
Bellody helps you keep your family's own health notes, appointments and medicines. It is not a medical device and not medical advice. Check medication changes with your clinician. If something you write about yourself contains clear signs of distress, Bellody may show you, on your own screen, a card with a crisis helpline (988 in the US and Canada). That check runs on your device, and its result is never stored, sent or shown to anyone else. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Bellody doesn't monitor, score or report what any household member writes, and never reports a child or teen to a parent.
8. Children
Bellody is a household organiser used by parents and guardians. Profiles for children are created and controlled by a parent on the parent's device. We collect no personal information from anyone, of any age: there's no registration, no advertising and no third-party software in the app. A parent may choose to share a child's information with a co-parent or caregiver as described above. Bellody is not in the App Store's Kids category.
9. Third parties and sale of data
We hold no personal information, so we share and sell none. We do not sell or "share" personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act or similar laws, and do no targeted advertising or profiling. Apple processes App Store purchases and iCloud under Apple's own privacy policy; we receive only aggregate, non-identifying App Store reports.
10. Your choices and rights
Because your data stays on your device, you control it directly in the app:
- Export: You → Export writes a readable file of everything. Diary and health items are included only if you tick them.
- Delete: You → Delete everything erases Bellody's data on the device. Deleting the app removes it too. Stop sharing first if you also want shared copies removed from your iCloud.
- Correct: editing an item saves a new version.
If you are in the EEA or UK: we have no access to data held on your device, so we don't act as a controller of it. You can still contact us with any question.
11. Retention and security
Data stays on your device until you delete it. We keep nothing. Because we hold no copy, we can't restore your data if you lose your device without an iCloud or computer backup.
12. Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
